McGill Family Practice Policies

Below are a few of the McGill Family Practice policies. Please ask for clarification on any question you may have prior to your scheduled appointment.

Co-pays, deductibles, and other fees are expected at the time of service.

Your insurance is a contract between you and your insurance company. Co-payments are required by your insurance company and they must be paid at each visit. We will gladly file your insurance claim for you as long as you bring your insurance card and proper information with you to your appointment. Please have your current insurance information with you at each visit and please allow time prior to your visit to allow us to update your records, because policies and coverage can change since your last visit.

All self pay patients, worker compensation claims, and motor vehicle accidents must pay for their visits in full on the day of service. We will provide you with receipts so you can file for reimbursement.

Any bill not paid by your insurance in 60 days will be your responsibility.

All checks written on insufficient funds or closed accounts will be charged a $50.00 fee plus bank charges and the patient will never be allowed to write another check.

We reserve the right to turn any account with a delinquent balance over to collections – though we make every effort possible to work with our patients.

Cash, credit cards, or checks are gladly accepted.

We make every effort possible to accommodate the needs of our patients with a variety of appointment times. However, we are unable to offer walk-in appointments.

We know that your time is valuable and we strive to be as punctual as possible to see you at your appointed time. To ensure that there is little to no wait time, please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time to complete any paperwork that may be required.

If you need to see one of our healthcare providers immediately please call first so that we may make arrangements.

Should you need to change your appointment or if you cannot keep your appointment please call our office as soon as possible. If you make an appointment and do not show up for it, you will be charged a $25 fee.

Walk-ins are discouraged. Please call in advance if there is a true emergency so that McGill Family Practice can take the appropriate course of action and provide the best medical care possible, i.e. perhaps an Emergency Room visit should be made.

No refills are given after office hours or on weekends.

We never prescribe narcotics over the phone.

After Hours Instructions
